(1949 - ) St. Paul, Minnesota
A love of animals, most specifically dogs, has directed Doreen Urbaniak down a path that criss-crosses the worlds of field trials and dog shows. She has been a groomer for and participant in these events for over thirty years.
In 1990 Doreen took her involvement a step further when she began her studies with award-winning bronze sculptress Nancy Rieke.
Doreen works in the Representation style to capture moments in time that evoke the senses. Her specialty is the sporting breeds and her sculpting ability has already brought her recognition on a national level. She has been a featured artist for bronze awards for several national field trials and for the 2000 National Gordon Setter Dog Show. Her sculptures were awarded at the 2001 Rottweiller Specialty Dog Show and most recently for the May 2005 German Short Haired Pointer National Walking Field Trial.
Doreen currently resides and sculpts in Osceola, Wisconsin.
